Testimonials

"The Labour of Love DVD kept me supple and fit throughout my pregnancy. It gave me great confidence and kept me calm at the onset of labour and right through until I gave birth.

During the last trimester I found myself awake at night and would use the DVD to do some of the exercises and breathing techniques. Generally within half an hour I was sufficiently relaxed and ready for bed once again.

Having previously had an emergency caesarean section I was delighted to give birth naturally and with no intervention. I can honestly say that it was down to the Labour of Love DVD and most importantly the breathing techniques that gave me the skills to get through the labour and give birth to a beautiful baby boy, James.

Thanks Sighle"

"I gave birth to our second son in July 2006, having attended Dee’s antenatal yoga class and used her yoga DVD for home practice throughout my pregnancy. I had also attended Dee’s class during my first pregnancy in 2003. Yoga was such an integral and positive part of both pregnancies and births that I can’t imagine going through the process without it.

During the pregnancy, yoga helped in a number of ways. In the early stages, doing some gentle yoga stretches and breathing helped combat fatigue and nausea and re-energised me, which was especially important this time around, given that I was picking up a tired toddler from a creche each evening after work. Later in the pregnancy, when I felt heavy and ungainly in a summer heatwave, a yoga session made me feel relatively weightless and agile again.

Throughout the pregnancy, yoga helped not just during practice, but at all times, since the memory of the yoga postures made it easier to maintain good posture and breathing, minimising back pain and discomfort as my weight balance shifted with the growing bump.

The time set aside for home DVD practice was a space in the day dedicated to the new baby, which is sometimes difficult to carve out when also caring for a toddler. I had practiced yoga for several years but the DVD was very useful in showing how to adapt classic yoga postures to suit pregnancy. Most women attending the antenatal class had not practised yoga before, but were finding the DVD very helpful in recalling the postures at home."
